The 2023 LPC Fall Art Show will be at the SCS Adult Education building at North Lake High
School, 23340 Elmira, St. Clair Shores, MI 48082.
Deadline for Entries is Friday, November 10:
Mail entry form, with $15 fee, to Ruth Hollister, 22601 E. 11 Mile Rd., St Clair Shores, MI 48081. Entry form and fee must be received by Friday, November 10.
Art Intake: Tuesday, November 14. Please bring one or two pieces of your art to the studio at the SCS Adult Education Building between 11AM and 2PM.
Note: If not properly wired, the art will not be accepted into the show. Saw tooth hangers are not acceptable. Come to the studio and talk to other artists for tips on proper hangers.
Judging: Wednesday, Nov 15
Awards Event and PotLuck: Friday, Nov 17
● Awards event and Potluck will take place at the SCS Adult Education Building Friday, November 17, at 5:30 pm, bring food early (5pm) for setup.
● Members bring a dish to share. A signup sheet will be available at the October meeting and at Tuesday Studio, or email lpcofscs@gmail.com, subject ‘pot luck fall’ to sign up.
● Awards will be announced at 7pm.
All Media Are Accepted: Size limit: There is a size limitation of 36” x 36”
Oil, Acrylic, Watercolor, Tempera, Pastel, Drawing, Mixed Media (including Collage), Sculpture(artist must supply pedestal) and Photography (including digital art). This is a juried show, not all pieces may be accepted.
Fees: $15.00 nonrefundable entry fee for 1 to 2 works. Commission on sales is 10%, payable to the Lakeside Palette Club.
Guidelines for Judging Originality
See page 11 of your bylaws for full copy. A work is valued the most when it expresses your own ideas. Technique and skill are not always the primary ingredient in a juror’s judgment of work that is acceptable for an exhibit.
Paintings from Photographs -- they should be your own original photos and not from postcards or magazines, etc. There is a difference between using reference and copying. Painting copies of other works of art should be considered a learning process and these copies should not be exhibited. You may be subject to legal action if you copy a known work of art and sign your name to it.
